Membrane proteins account for over 60% of known drug targets, making them crucial in therapeutic innovation. A deep understanding of their structures and molecular mechanisms is essential for driving breakthroughs in drug discovery. To promote intellectual exchange in this critical field, the Beijing Frontier Research Center for Biological Structure (FRCBS) is proud to host the Frontiers in Membrane Protein Structural Biology and Drug Discovery Innovation symposium.
Scheduled to take place from March 28 to 30, 2025, at Tsinghua University, this symposium will spotlight the latest advances in the structural biology of key membrane protein drug targets, including ion channels and G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs). Additionally, it will feature cutting-edge technologies for developing novel therapeutics, such as nanobodies, toxins, peptides, and more.
The organizing committee of this symposium includes: Professor Brian Kobilka, Dr. Tongsun Kobilka, Professor Xiangyu Liu, Professor Sanduo Zheng, and Professor Jiafei Mao. We invite you to join us for this dynamic event as we explore the frontiers of structural biology and drug discovery.
The major topics of the symposium include:
1. Frontiers in Membrane Protein Structural Biology
2. Innovative Methodologies in Membrane Protein Drug Discovery
3. Dynamics and Signaling Mechanisms of GPCRs
4. Molecular Pharmacology of Membrane Proteins
5. Challenges and New Opportunities in GPCR Drug Discovery
