Biocomputing Platform

<p> <br /> </p> <p> The Biocomputing Platform of Protein Sciences Technology Center in Tsinghua University aims to support biological and medical computing researches. With growing capacity of big data processing and parallel computing, the computing facility is now able to provide service for large-scale data processing and analysis, especially, for high-resolution electron cryomicroscopy(Cryo-EM). </p> <p> <br /> </p> <p> The computing facility is an intercrossed platform combining biomedicine with information technology. It is dedicated to“dry experiment” in the field of biomedicine, and uses various high performance computing technology to solve frontier scientific issues of biomedicine. The computing facility provides services of high-performance computing. The computing facility has a cluster with 120 computing nodes equipped with 1920 Intel Xeon E5-2650 CPU cores. The system has the theoretical peak speed of 30.72TFlops, with the total disk capacity of 1.4PB. Since 2015, the computing facility expand its computing capability by building an additional clusters with 250 computing nodes equipped with 5000 Intel Xeon E5-2660 CPU cores. The system’s theoretical peak speed is up to 104TFlops with a storage of 2.6PB. We build a new cluster with 200 computing nodes equipped with 5600 Intel Xeon E5-2690 v4 CPU cores. The system’s theoretical peak speed is up to 232TFlops with a storage of 7PB. In addition, the computing facility possess 2 superfat nodes with 2TB memory, 4 fat nodes with 512GB memory and several gpu servers. </p> <p> <br /> </p> <p> http://c.life.tsinghua.edu.cn </p>
